Small Plane Crash-Lands In Florida Backyard

A small plane crashed into the backyard of an Inverness home Monday afternoon, deputies said. The plane crashed at a house at 743 Carnegie Drive shortly before 4 p.m. Deputies said no one was seriously injured in the crash, although pilot Joseph Roger Smith was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. “We were playing pool in our little man cave there and we heard a boom and we thought it was a tree limb or lightning, thunder something like that,” said Jennifer Hoar. “And we came running out here because our dog was out here, and we found this.”
