Investigators are working to determine what caused a home to explode in Jeffersonville on Sunday -- killing one.
The explosion happened just before 5 a.m. at a home in the 900 block of Assembly Road in the Capitol Hill area. Police said there were three people in the home at the time of the explosion. One died and two others were taken to University Hospital. A female victim is in critical condition.
Police said a third person, an 11-year-old girl, in a nearby home was also hospitalized after her ceiling caved in. She has since been released.
Family members told fire officials that one of the victims had been treated and released from the hospital by Sunday afternoon.
